Young Enterprise Group .

The Young Enterprise mission is to:

Inspire and educate young people to understand and value the role of business through practical business projects, which develop attitudes and skills for personal success, life-long learning and employability

Young Enterprise Northern Ireland is an enterprising and innovative project for young people aged 14-18. It is supported by Unilever, HSBA, Northern and Midland Bank. The companies established each year are real enterprises. A management team of function Directors are elected each year and a range of products or services are researched before the final product is chosen. Each individual company is examined on communication, objective setting, planning and review, teamwork and product development amongst others.

Each company consists of usually 10 or more pupils from Year 13. During the year the company produces and sells their product at various trade fairs in Northern Ireland . At the end of the year companies in each Education Board compete with each other for ‘Best overall company’ and ‘Most Innovative Company’. The winner of each section then goes forward to the Northern Ireland final and then to the UK final.

Business Studies Trips

Each year our GCSE students visit an Industrial workplace to further develop their knowledge acquired in the classroom. The pupils get up to date information about businesses that they may be familiar with and see theory applied to real-life. GCSE pupils visited a variety of places each year such as Bass Ireland, Coca-cola and Phoenix Gas. These visits take place in the third term of Year 11.
